Analytical Frameworks

Through interdisciplinary teaching, research, and programming, WGS provides analytical frameworks for the examination of gender, race, ethnicity, class, and sexuality.

Gender Equity

Our mission is to educate MIT students about the importance of gender equity, and to promote critical thinking about the role of gender across disciplines and in all areas of life.

Community & Inclusion

WGS supports women students and upholds the Institute’s efforts to foster community, equity, and inclusion.

Re-vision—the act of looking back, of seeing with fresh eyes, of entering an old text from a new critical direction—is for women more than a chapter in cultural history: it is an act of survival.
— Adrienne Cecile Rich (1929–2012), American poet, essayist, and feminist
